Abstract:Objective In view of the defect of minimally invasive performance of the current magnetic anchoring video instrument,
a novel horizontal micro magnetic anchoring laparoscope for laparo-endoscopic single site surgery (LESS) was proposed. Methods
The horizontal micro magnetic anchoring laparoscope was composed of shell, horizontal video module, orientation magnet,
anchoring magnet, data line and interface, as well as the corresponding external support system. Results The experimental samples
were verified in vivo and in vitro. The horizontal micro magnetic anchoring laparoscope could enter the abdominal cavity through
conventional 12 mm trocar, and its non-motor-driven 30° inclination angle was achieved by the inventive “suspension method”,
which could obtain target horizons without colliding with other laparoscopic instruments. Conclusion The horizontal micro magnetic
anchoring laparoscope is of great significance to improve the minimal invasiveness and operability of LESS surgery.
