Abstract:Objective To establish a clinical laboratory critical value management platform based on information technology.
Methods C/S architecture and ORACLE database, Power Builder development tools, combined with clinical, nursing, inspection
and other disciplines, were used to realize the fine management of clinical crisis value platform of LIS, HIS, EMR, SMS platform,
PDA and many other medical system data exchange. Results The incidence of critical value decreased from 2.19% before
implementation to 1.46% after implementation. The timely rate of notification, nurses’ and doctors’ handling of critical value
items in laboratory department had been significantly improved. The missing rate of critical value in electronic medical records had been
reduced to less than 1%, which met the requirements of hospital grade evaluation. Conclusion The system provides technical and
data support for the continuous improvement of critical value management, which will help to improve the level of medical
safety management, reduce medical risks and improve patient satisfaction.
