Abstract:Objective To explore the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance brain gray and white matter imaging in benign
and malignant intracranial space occupying lesions. Methods The MRI examination data (including routine MRI, brain gray
and white matter imaging, DWI, etc.) of 168 cases of intracranial mass lesions in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.
Combined with pathological results, the imaging characteristics of brain gray and white matter imaging were analyzed. The
diagnostic accuracy of MRI sequences was compared. Results The diagnosis of 168 intracranial space-occupying lesions by MRI
sequences was as follows: 92 cases (54.76%) of routine MRI sequences, 34 cases of benign and 58 cases of malignant; 117 cases
(69.64%) of DWI combined with conventional MRI, 39 cases of benign and 78 cases of malignant; 148 cases (88.10%) of GM/WMonly
combined with routine MRI and DWI, 47 cases of benign and 101 cases of malignant. The diagnostic rate of GM/WMonly
combined with conventional MRI and DWI for intracranial space-occupying lesions was higher than that of conventional MRI
and DWI combined with conventional MRI (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional MRI and DWI, MRI brain
gray and white matter imaging combined with conventional MRI can better determine the benign and malignant properties of
intracranial space-occupying lesions, which can be used as a necessary supplement.
