Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of 64 slice spiral CT in preoperative staging of pancreatic carcinoma. Methods
A total of 45 patients with pancreatic carcinoma admitted to our hospital from February 2010 to June 2015 were selected as study
subjects. All patients underwent 64 slice spiral CT scan, and the imaging findings were analyzed and compared with the results of
surgery and pathology. The application value of 64 slice spiral CT in preoperative staging of pancreatic carcinoma was analyzed.
Results Imaging findings of 64 slice spiral CT scan showed that the enlargement of the pancreas, irregular shape and uneven density
of lesions, and the enhanced scan indicated pancreatic parenchymal low density. 64 slice spiral CT scanning of pancreatic carcinoma
could clearly show the relationship between the tumor and surrounding tissue structures. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy
of 64 slice spiral CT in the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma were 77.78% (35/45), 0 (0/0) and 77.78% (35/45), respectively.
The accuracy of 64 slice spiral CT in the diagnosis of preoperative staging (stage Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ) of pancreatic carcinoma showed no
significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion 64 slice spiral CT is highly accurate in the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma. It is of
high diagnostic value in preoperative staging of pancreatic carcinoma, especially in the advanced stage, which is of great importance
for the development of treatment plan.
