Abstract:Objective To explore color doppler ultrasound and multislice spiral CT angiography (CTA) of vertebral artery segment
stenosis diagnosis value. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 52 patients on the basis of clinical symptoms
who underwent ultrasound and CTA examination. The initial segment degree of stenosis of the vertebral artery were compared.
Results The ultrasonic examination of vertebral artery moderately severe stenosis detection rate was 70.19% (73/104). In which,
the stenosis rate was 30.13% (22/73) and 69.86% (51/73) detected by high frequency sonography and low frequency ultrasound,
respectively. The detection rate of the moderate to severe stenosis at the start of vertebral artery by CTA examination was 74.03%
(77/104), which was not statistically different with that of ultrasound. Conclusion The detection rate of stenosis of vertebral artery
stenosis is higher in the patients with ultrasound and CTA, and the detection rate is significantly improved by the combination of
the high and low frequency probe.
