Comparison of the Value Between Two Different Detection Methods in the Quality Evaluation
of Centralized Cleaning and Disinfection for Rigid Endoscopes

Abstract:Objective To provide an effective method for the quality of cleaning and disinfection of rigid endoscope based on
compared results of two detection methods between the hard endoscope cleaning and disinfection quality. Methods We selected 120
pieces rigid endoscopes which were sterilized and determined qualified by visual method in our department from October 2014 to
October 2015. At the same time, the outer surface and the internal cavity of the rigid endoscope was carried on sampling detection
using ATP bioluminescence detection and strip method, respectively. Results The surface positive rate of rigid endoscope sterilized
by ATP fluorescence detection method was larger than that was sterilized by strip method, but there was no significant difference
between the two groups (P>0.05). The internal cavity positive rate and whole positive rate were significantly greater than that of
strip method (P<0.05). The RLU value of internal cavity of rigid endoscope was significantly higher than that of instrument surface
value. Conclusion A scientific and reasonable testing methods can quickly and objectively evaluate the quality of cleaning and
disinfection. ATP fluorescence detection method is simple, rapid and practical, which can improve the quality of hard endoscope
cleaning and disinfection.
