Abstract:Breast cancer is a kind of common malignant tumor threatening women's health. At present,
histopathological factor is the main clinical basis for breast cancer forecast and treatment. Discovery and
confirmation of biomarkers based on clinical proteomics study has gradually become the mainstream
of breast cancer research, which greatly enhances clinical understanding of molecular mechanism of
breast cancer, and promotes the clinical diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer. This article mainly
reriewed the application progress of mass spectrometry in the study of breast cancer biomarkers. Firstly,
it introduced basic concept of proteomics based on mass spectrometry, then detailed the latest research
progress on mass spectrometry techniques and related application in breast cancer biomarker research,
furthermore it also listed some potential breast cancer biomarkers with mass spectrometry as well as their
application prospect. Finally, the limitations and future development trend of mass spectrometry in breast
cancer biomarker study were also discussed.
