Abstract:Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital is a large general hospital with orthopedics as the most dominant discipline, and it has
gradually established an evidence-based management system for medical equipment in the long-term exploration and practice. This
paper summarized the five main stages of the exploration process, which were evidence-based theoretical exploration, development
of tools, organization and procedures, publicity and communication, management decision optimization, and the intervention of
discipline operation. It was analyzed that the exploration of evidence-based management of medical equipment mostly originated
from the management of medical consumables, and then gradually extended to other categories of medical equipment. It is concluded
that the active evidence-based management of equipment withdrawal still needs to be further explored.
