Evaluation of Clinical Image Quality of Pituitary Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the pituitary magnetic resonance images collected from different types of magnetic resonance
equipment in different medical institutions, and to compare the clinical effects of different types of equipment in pituitary
examination. Methods A total of 150 cases of pituitary magnetic resonance images were collected and sorted out in more than 40
medical institutions in China according to the guideline of MRI image quality certification issued by the American Radiological
Society in 2013, and the clinical image quality of the five common sequences were scored using Likert method. The samples
were divided into domestic group and imported group, as well as 1.5 T group and 3.0 T group, and were compared statistically.
Results In 1.5 T group, the pituitary magnetic resonance image quality of United-imaging uMR560 was better than that
of GE HDx and Alltech Cen/ES, and there were statistical differences. In 3.0 T group, Siemens Verio performed better,
United-imaging uMR770 performed weaker, and the imported equipments performed better overall. The difference was statistically
significant. Conclusion In the clinical MRI examination of pituitary, both 1.5 T and 3.0 T equipments can meet the clinical
needs. The overall performance of 1.5 T domestic magnetic resonance equipments is not inferior to that of imported equipments,
but there is still a certain gap between the domestic 3.0 T magnetic resonance equipments and imported equipments. Based on
the research of pituitary magnetic resonance image quality evaluation, this study explored the evaluation method of the clinical
MR images quality, hoping to provide valuable reference information for the definition and improvement of domestic
magnetic resonance equipments in the future.
