Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of two types of flowmeters on the measurement accuracy of tidal volume in
ventilators. Methods A total of ten ventilators used in our hospital were selected as the objects in this study, including five
type A ventilators and five type B ventilators. Type A ventilator adopted ultrasonic flowmeter, and type B used metal hotwire
flowmeter. The tidal volume parameters of the ventilators were measured by VT305 flow analyzer. Results The tidal volume
test results showed that the error range of the two types of ventilators were in line with the requirements of the national measurement
standards, but the tidal volume error value of type A flowmeter was obviously lower than that of type B flowmeter. Conclusion
There are differences in the precision of two types of flowmeters in the monitoring of ventilator tidal volume, but it needs to be
further verified with large sample size study and whole life-cycle detection.
