Abstract:Objective To solve the problem that current clinical equipment could not easily support both head and arms at the same
time in setting up prone position, and to satisfy the usage by clinics and first-aid institutions under emergency. Methods The
framework consisted of the head support, the arm support, the base, and the stand. The head support could be adjusted for patients
of diverse sizes and weights, and it fit the face comfortably to reduce local pressure. The arm support included the arm bracer at the
top and the stand at the bottom. The arm bracer had two components to fulfill different configurations of the forearm and the upper
arm in various angles and positions, while the stand extended the placement range of the arm bracer. Results The authors provided
a convenient body position equipment that simultaneously supported both head and arms. Conclusion The framework is safe and
stable, adequately exposed, easy to operate, and is suitable for each level of medical agencies, even in urgent surgeries in the event of
public emergencies or massive front-line treatments.
