Abstract:During the operation of elekta synergy linear accelerator, programmable pulse generator (PPG) PCB will transmit pulse
repetition frequency (PRF) ENABLE signal, pass through three control areas, multileaf collimator and linac control system, then go
back to PPG PCB. If everything works well, PPG PCB will provide thyristor trigger pulse to high tension area, then pulse forming
network will charge and discharge normally, the magnetron will generate microwave to accelerating tube, and the linear accelerator
will works properly. Otherwise, if any part works in wrong conditions, the linear accelerator will not delivery beam. During the
clinical use of elekta synergy linear accelerator in our hospital, the PRF ENABLE interlock occurred several times. This article
summarized the PRF EN CHK chain of elekta Synergy linear accelerator in the process of operation in our hospital, analyzed in
detail the happened or possibile failures, focued on the process of troubleshooting, which might provide the reference for the related
personnel.
